The following are excerpts from David Maraniss' Barack Obama: The Story dealing with the elaborate drug culture surrounding the president when he attended Punahou School in Honolulu and Occidental College in Los Angeles.

A User's Guide To Smoking Pot With Barack Obama
1. The Choom Gang
A self-selected group of boys at Punahou School who loved basketball and good times called themselves the Choom Gang.
Choom is a verb, meaning "to smoke marijuana."
2. Total Absorption
As a member of the Choom Gang, Barry Obama was known for starting a few pot-smoking trends.
The first was called "TA," short for "total absorption."
To place this in the physical and political context of another young man who would grow up to be president…
TA was the antithesis of Bill Clinton's claim that as a Rhodes scholar at Oxford he smoked dope but never inhaled.
3. Roof Hits
Along with TA…
Barry popularized the concept of "roof hits".
When they were chooming in the car all the windows had to be rolled up so no smoke blew out and went to waste.
When the pot was gone…they tilted their heads back and sucked in the last bit of smoke from the ceiling.
4. Penalties
When you were with Barry and his pals, if you exhaled precious pakalolo…
(Hawaiian slang for marijuana, meaning "numbing tobacco")
instead of absorbing it fully into your lungs,
you were assessed a penalty and your turn was skipped the next time the joint came around.
"Wasting good bud smoke was not tolerated,"
explained one member of the Choom Gang,
Tom Topolinski, the Chinese-looking kid
(in the photo above)
with a Polish name who answered to Topo.
5. The Choomwagon
(Choom Gang member) Mark Bendix's Volkswagen bus was also known as the Choomwagon…
The other members considered Mark Bendix the glue,
he was funny, creative and uninhibited,
with a penchant for Marvel Comics.
He also had that VW bus and a house,
with a pool, a bong, and a Nerf basketball…
all enticements...for them to slip off midday for a few unauthorized hours of recreation.
6. Interceptions
Barry also had a knack for interceptions…
When a joint was making the rounds,
he often elbowed his way in, out of turn,
and shouted "Intercepted!"
then he would take an extra hit.
No one seemed to mind.
7. Slippers
Choom Gang members often made their way to Aku Ponds at the end of Manoa Stream…
where they slipped past the liliko'i vines and the KAPU (keep out) signs,
waded into waist-high cool mountain water,
stood near the rock where water rushed overhead,
and held up a slipper
(what flip-flops are called in Hawaii)
to create an air pocket canopy.
It was a natural high,they said...stoned or not.
8. Ray The Dealer
Ray was a long-haired haole hippie who worked at the Mama Mia Pizza Parlor not far from Punahou...
he lived in a dilapidated bus in an abandoned warehouse.
According to Topolinski..
"Ray the dealer was "freakin' scary.""
Many years later they learned that he had been killed with a ball-peen hammer by a scorned gay lover.
But at the time he was useful because of his ability to "score quality weed."

In a section of the (senior) yearbook…
students were given a block of space to express thanks and to define their high school experience.
Nestled below (Obama's) photographs was one odd line of gratitude:
"Thanks Tut, Gramps, Choom Gang, and Ray for all the good times."
A hippie drug-dealer made his acknowledgments…
but his own mother did not.
9. Pumping Stations
Their favorite hangout was a place they called Pumping Stations…
a lush hideaway off an unmarked, roughly paved road partway up Mount Tantalus.
They parked single file on the grassy edge, turned up their stereos playing...
Aerosmith, Blue Oyster Cult, and Stevie Wonder,
lit up some "sweet-sticky Hawaiian buds"
and washed it down with "green bottle beer"
(the Choom Gang preferred Heineken, Becks, and St. Pauli Girl).
10. Veto
One of the favorite words in their subculture revealed their democratic nature.
The word was veto.
Whenever an idea was broached,
someone could hold up his hand in the V sign
(a backward peace sign of that era)
and indicate that the motion was not approved.
They later shortened the process so that you could just shout "V" to get the point across.
In the Choom Gang…all V's were created equal.
11. Maui Wowie, Kauai Electric, Puna Bud And Kona Gold:
In the Honolulu of Barry's teenage years marijuana was flourishing up in the hills,
out in the countryside,
in covert greenhouses everywhere.
It was sold and smoked right there in front of your nose…
Maui Wowie, Kauai Electric, Puna Bud, Kona Gold,
and many other local variations of pakololo were readily available.
12. The Barf Couch
The Barf Couch earned its name early in the first trimester,
when a freshman across the hall from Obama...
(in the Haines Hall Annex dorm at Occidental College)
drank himself into a stupor and threw up all over himself and the couch.
In the manner of pallbearers hoisting a coffin,
a line of Annexers lifted the tainted sofa with the freshman aboard and toted it out the back door and down four steps to the first concrete landing on the way to the parking lot.
A day later, the couch remained outside in the sun, resting on its side with cushions off
(someone had hosed it clean)
and soon it was back in the hallway nook.
13. The Annex Olympics
(The main hallway at Haines Hall was called the Annex)
It was home to the impromptu Annex Olympics:
long-jumping onto a pile of mattresses,
wrestling in underwear,
hacking golf balls down the hallway toward the open back door,
boxing while drunk.
There were the non-Olympic sports of lighting farts and judging them by color,
tipping over the Coke machine,
breaking the glass fire extinguisher case,
putting out cigarettes on the carpet,
falling asleep on the carpet,
flinging Frisbees at the ceiling-mounted alarm bell,
tasting pizza boxes to the floor,
and smoking pot from a three-foot crimson opaque bong,
a two-man event involving the smoker and an accomplice…
standing ready to respond to the order...
"Hey, dude, light the bowl!"

That President Obama lost roughly 40 percent of the vote in Democratic primaries in Arkansas, Kentucky and West Virginia over the last two weeks has drawn massive national headlines.
Those headlines have drawn a collective eye roll from Democrats — and many others who closely follow national politics — who ascribe the underperformance by the incumbent to a very simple thing: racism.
No, none of these Democrats are willing to put their name to that allegation — either generally or for this story. But, it is, without question the prevalent viewpoint they hold privately.
They argue that conservative white Democrats — particularly those in the South and Appalachia — don’t want to vote for an African American for president and, therefore, are willing to cast a ballot for almost anyone else up to and including an incarcerated felon.
Untangling or decoupling how people feel about Obama’s race from how they feel about the policies he has pursued in office and his general beliefs about the size and necessity of government is impossible.
No poll or election result can divine voters’ motivations.
It’s abundantly clear then that the problems Obama has had in primaries in places like West Virginia and Arkansas aren’t new.
But, sussing out the “why” of Obama unpopularity in these states is far more tricky.

or the 41 percent of Arkansas who backed Tennessee lawyer John Wolfe over the incumbent,
as “racists” is a major oversimplification.

Bain Capital is a private equity firm which assumes all its own risk…
a firm that takes over failing businesses,
either by breaking them up or by investing in them and managing them to recovery and expansion.
(a venture that is purely speculative and done for an opportunity to profit,
because (after all) Bain does exist to make money for its investors,
which…by the way…BAIN has done handsomely)
THAT business is demonized by the President and the Democrats…
But Obama, who takes TAXPAYER money…
(not his own no personal equity)
and risks and uses that TAXPAYER money to prop up failed businesses like SOLYNDRA
(who then go bankrupt and whose executives reap massive bonus money paid by TAXPAYERS)
with money which TAXPAYERS will never get back,
and with money that Obama adds to the NATIONAL DEBT,
(a debt which we must all pay)
just so his cronies can keep their millions
and invest in Obama through campaign contributions…

Elizabeth Warren touted her claim of Cherokee heritage in a
cookbook titled...
Pow Wow Chow: A Collection of Recipes from Families of the Five Civilized Tribes : Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek and Seminole
"Pow Wow Chow” (edited by her cousin) that included 5 Warren recipes.
Warren, who has been under fire for claiming Indian lineage (despite a lack of documentation)...
is identified as “Elizabeth Warren, Cherokee” under each of the recipes she contributes in the cookbook.

Unfortunately, two of the recipes were word for word copies of a 1979 article written for the New York Times News Service by famous French cook Pierre Franey.
Yesterday, attention turned to Harvard Law School, where Ms. Warren has been employed as a professor since 1992.
Plagiarism of an academic paper while employed by Harvard Law School, or while employed previously at another law school, would clearly be grounds for her dismissal under Harvard University’s code of conduct for professors.
But does plagiarism of a 1984 cookbook when she was 35 years old and employed as a research associate and teacher at the University of Texas Law School constitute grounds for dismissal?
Harvard’s ‘Guide to Using Sources’ manual defines plagiarism as…
“passing off a source’s information, ideas, or words as your own by omitting to cite them.”
It does not draw a distinction between work submitted academically or elsewhere.
But the policy for the Law School is a little stricter…
“The issue (of plagiarism) is essentially one of academic and intellectual honesty…
All work submitted by a student for any academic or nonacademic exercise is expected to be the student’s own work.”

The full name of course was Francis Gary Powers.
And that's when things really got ugly for the arrogant Matthews.
With the category "Law and Order," the answer was…
"A U.S.D.C is one of these...charged with the jurisdiction of a specific region."
Matthews responded…"What is a U.S. attorney?”
And this guy has the nerve to ridicule anyone?
Where do you find "attorney" in the acronym "U.S.D.C.?"
Obviously, the correct response was district court.
Then, in the same category, another answer was…

Matthews responded…"What is a hostile workplace?"
This brainiac thinks the same word can be in both the answer AND the question.
Of course, the correct response was sexual harassment.
And then the fun really began in the category "6-Letter World Capitals" with the answer…"St. Basil's Cathedral is there."
Readers are once again reminded the category was "6-Letter World Capitals."
Almost astonishingly, the pompous and holier-than-thou Matthews responded…"What is Istanbul?"
The correct response – (containing six letters and not eight) - was Moscow.

9) Only in America could the government collect more tax dollars from
the people than any nation in recorded history…yet still spend a trillion
dollars more than it takes in per year…for total spending of $7 million PER
MINUTE…and complain that it doesn't have nearly enough money.
10) Only in America could the rich people who pay 86% of all income
taxes...be accused of not paying their "fair share"…
by people who don't pay any income taxes at all!

The Coming Race War in America was published in 1996 by Carl Rowan, the black columnist and former ambassador to Finland. The title is not ironic. He foresaw a major racial explosion. The book of course was furiously ignored. It should not have been. It dealt with an apocalyptic vision that has lurked around the edges of American consciousness since before the Civil War. And still does. We just don’t talk about it.
What has this to do with Zimmerman?
This:
Our racial policy has proved a disaster. Sixty years after Brown vs. the School Board, blacks have not assimilated. They constitute a separate people having almost nothing in common with the surrounding European society. They fiercely maintain their identity with their own music, dialect, customs, dress, and names. All attempts to turn them into middle-class whites in darker packaging have failed. Only relentless governmental pressure forces an appearance of partial integration.
Let’s consider a few awkward facts that loom ghoulishly above the body politic, which seems to be decomposing.
First, on every known measure of cognitive ability, on IQ, SATs, GREs, everything, blacks average about one standard deviation, fifteen IQ points, below whites. The gap is a fact. It exists. It is reflected in performance. It has proved intractable. In a technological civilization that rewards intelligence, the deficit sharply limits legitimate access to the higher reaches of money, power, class, and prestige.
Second, blacks continue to show little interest in schooling. Exceptions and degrees, yes. Yet consider cities such as Washington, which usually has a black mayor, black city council, mostly black school board, black staffs in the schools, black parents, black students, a high per-capita expenditure—and perhaps the worst schools in the country. This is a fact, and shows no signs of diminishing. It is repeated in countless cities.
If the United State had large numbers of manual jobs that paid a living wage, as for example assembling cars, things might not be so bad. But the United States no longer has many such jobs. The economy has no need for huge numbers of people who read at the level of second-graders, if that. The existence of these people is a fact. When such jobs exist, as for example on police forces, better qualified whites are invariably available. Without remedial intervention, the academic and professional worlds, the managerial ranks of blue-collar trades, would turn almost pure white, and there would be actual hunger in the inner cities.
The solution, to the extent that it can be called a solution, has been a combination of welfare and affirmative action. Each has produced its own kind of dependency. Whites in their own way depend on welfare payments to blacks in that ending welfare would send the cities up in flames. We now have dense concentrations of unemployed, unemployable blacks leading meaningless lives in rotting cities. They are angry, blame whites for their troubles, and do not have a lot to lose. The torching of Los Angeles in 1992 is endlessly repeatable. Only a spark is needed.
None of this improves things, and they seem to be getting worse. On the Drudge Report and elsewhere on the web, video after cell phone video appears...of pack-attacks...by feral blacks on whites and Asians. These attacks often result in brain damage: the attackers are trying to hurt the victims badly, and usually laugh while doing it. Other videos time and again show black teenagers looting Seven-Elevens. The perpetrators show no signs of worry about being caught. They know that white police wouldn’t dare arrest thirty black adolescents.
Whites are frightened of blacks. They are afraid of taking the wrong exit from the freeway and ending up in a black ghetto. They are afraid when they pass young black males in a dark neighborhood. White women clutch their purses and cross the street, try not to get into elevators with them. The fear, seldom mentioned, determines where whites live, where they go, and where they send their children to school.
This unacknowledged fear engenders unacknowledged consequences. When white men buy guns, journalistic organs of that prissy rectitude we call political correctness—the Washington Post, probably National Review—speak of gun nuts, psychosexual inadequacies, and sordid fantasies. Hardly. The purchasers of guns have in mind defending their families should the need arise. The buyers do not fear attack by Jewish violinists.
Government also is afraid of blacks. Los Angeles burned because blacks didn’t like the outcome of a trial. Recently cities in England went up because a policeman shot a black. The Zimmerman shooting looks very similar, and blacks are very angry. Jesse Jackson has said that Trayvon was “hunted down like a rabid dog in the street,” that he was “murdered and martyred,” that it was a “hate crime.”
These are the words of a man looking for a fight. One may be available. Charging Zimmerman with murder buys time. But if he is acquitted….
The signs are ominous. Tension rises in America. Incomes fall, foreclosures rise, jobs go east, police powers increase, trust in government evaporates, and expectations for the future decline. An unfocused edginess germinates. It is not a recipe for domestic tranquility.
The response of whites to riots by blacks has always been to back away. This prudence, as it is thought to be, has been enforced by the government. If a minority in Russia started burning cities, the army would shoot the rioters on sight. America doesn’t work that way, or hasn’t recently. The lack of consequences for beatings and flash-mobbing, the history of saying “racism” and walking, produces a sense of untouchability in blacks. It could be a mistake.
A spring is being wound. On one hand, when you live in a sprawling tightly packed concentration of people like yourself, it is easy to forget that you are very much a minority, that the majority holds all the high cards, and that food doesn’t really come from Safeway.
On the other hand, via the internet whites now know of the racial attacks, and grow quietly very sick of them. There is among many white men an undercurrent of “Bring it on.” This is not confined merely to cops, soldiers, conservatives, Southerners, westerners, the rural and the blue-collar. You can find it, carefully hidden, in federal offices and even among men in newsrooms. The extent of this sentiment is easy to underestimate. Those who share it don’t dare express it, and most journalists live in ideological bubbles.

Seems the Chronicle readers were outraged.
Not that a graduate student was earning a doctorate…
by claiming that Sowell, Thomas, and McWhorter are threats to civil rights.
Oh, no.
They were outraged because Naomi would dare poke fun at such insanity.
Because...you know...that’s racist.
They didn’t fire Naomi Schaefer Riley because of what she wrote.
They fired her because their readers didn’t like it
The great irony is that the whining and gnashing of teeth from the “Black Studies” crowd only reinforces Naomi’s point about the “discipline.”
You’d never see chemists or physicists or mathematicians worked into a hysterical mob by a critical blog post.
Because….they actually study ‘fields of knowledge’,
as opposed to…opining about their ‘feelings’.

The Most Persuasive Case for Eliminating Black Studies?
Just Read the Dissertations.
You’ll have to forgive the lateness but I just got around to reading The Chronicle’s recent piece on the young guns of black studies. If ever there were a case for eliminating the discipline, the sidebar explaining some of the dissertations being offered by the best and the brightest of black-studies graduate students has made it. What a collection of left-wing victimization claptrap. The best that can be said of these topics is that they’re so irrelevant no one will ever look at them.
That’s what I would say about Ruth Hayes’ dissertation, “‘So I Could Be Easeful’: Black Women’s Authoritative Knowledge on Childbirth.” It began because she “noticed that nonwhite women’s experiences were largely absent from natural-birth literature, which led me to look into historical black midwifery.” How could we overlook the nonwhite experience in “natural birth literature,” whatever the heck that is? It’s scandalous and clearly a sign that racism is alive and well in America, not to mention academia.
Then there is Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, author of “Race for Profit: Black Housing and the Urban Crisis of the 1970s.” Ms. Taylor believes there was apparently some kind of conspiracy in the federal government’s promotion of single family homes in black neighborhoods after the unrest of the 1960s. Single family homes! The audacity! But Ms. Taylor sees that her issue is still relevant today. (Not much of a surprise since the entirety of black studies today seems to rest on the premise that nothing much has changed in this country in the past half century when it comes to race. Shhhh. Don’t tell them about the black president!) She explains that “The subprime lending crisis, if it did nothing else, highlighted the profitability of racism in the housing market.” The subprime lending crisis was about the profitability of racism? Those millions of white people who went into foreclosure were just collateral damage, I guess.
But topping the list in terms of sheer political partisanship and liberal hackery is La TaSha B. Levy. According to the Chronicle, “Ms. Levy is interested in examining the long tradition of black Republicanism, especially the rightward ideological shift it took in the 1980s after the election of Ronald Reagan. Ms. Levy’s dissertation argues that conservatives like Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas, John McWhorter, and others have ‘played one of the most-significant roles in the assault on the civil-rights legacy that benefited them.’” The assault on civil rights? Because they don’t favor affirmative action they are assaulting civil rights? Because they believe there are some fundamental problems in black culture that cannot be blamed on white people...they are assaulting civil rights?
Seriously, folks…there are legitimate debates about the problems that plague the black community from high incarceration rates to low graduation rates to high out-of-wedlock birth rates.
But it’s clear that they’re not happening in black-studies departments.
If these young scholars are the future of the discipline…
I think they can just as well leave their calendars at 1963,
and let some legitimate scholars find solutions to the problems of blacks in America.
Solutions that don’t begin and end with blame the white man.

Romney on Wednesday called same sex-marriage "a very tender and sensitive topic" as he contrasted his position with President Barack Obama's unequivocal declaration of support…for allowing same-sex couples to ‘marry’.
Obama is the first president in history to support gay marriage.
Polls show the country is evenly divided on the issue.
Romney did not go so far as to accuse Obama of changing his position on the issue.
Questioned by reporters, the presumptive Republican nominee for president said news reports indicate Obama has shifted his stance.
Romney says…STATES should be able to decide whether to grant certain legal benefits to same-sex couples.

Is an Economic Deluge Nigh?

If history has taught one certain lesson, it is that the less fettered an economy, the better humankind is able to do what it does best...run from trouble and run toward opportunity. In this way mistakes are quickly resolved and progress assured.
Conversely, the deeper the muck of regulation, mandates, taxes, subsidies and other bureaucratic meddling, the slower we humans are in following our natural instincts until the point that progress is slowed or even stopped.
It is said that history doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes. In the current circumstances, it appears that enough time has passed that current generations have completely forgotten the critical connection between the ability of humans to freely pursue their aspirations and economic progress.
You can see this ignorance in the popular demand for even more, not less, meddling in the affairs of humankind. Should this trend continue – and for reasons I will touch on momentarily, I firmly believe it will – then the aspirations of the productive minority will soon be dampened by ever higher taxes and other attempts to "level the playing field" and the global economy, already in tatters, will fall off the edge.
There is no more timely nor acute example of this growing trend than what is currently going on in France. I refer, of course, to the first round of the presidential election process, scheduled for this weekend.
In France, if no candidate attracts no better than 50% of the vote, then the two leading candidates go to a decisive runoff vote, this time around to be held on May 6.
The current president, Nicolas Sarkozy, a conservative in name only, was running at a fairly steady gait toward re-election (thanks to the head start awarded all incumbents), when leading socialist candidate Francois Hollande came out with a proposal to tax anyone with an annual income of over one million Euros at a rate of 75%. He also promised to add a tax on all financial transactions and increase taxes on France's biggest companies to 35% – securing bragging rights as levying the world's third-highest corporate taxes, the US being #1.
This all on top of a 25% VAT, one of the world's highest. By some calculations, the result of Hollande's new taxes is that effectively 100% of all incomes over one million Euros will now be stripped away by the state.
For good measure, Hollande also promised to reverse the recent modest increase in retirement age from 60 to 62 pushed through by Sarkozy. While I am sure it is mere coincidence, I found it noteworthy that Mssr. Hollande's campaign slogan is "Change – Now!"
Remarkably, at least for those with some small understanding of economics, as a result of leaning into the microphone with these proposals Hollande has galloped ahead of all other potential contenders and is now projected to finish nose by nose with Sarkozy.
After which the also-rans will be removed from the race, freeing their supporters to share their affections elsewhere. Given that the leading contender for third place with an estimated 14% of the vote is one Jean-Luc Mélenchon – charitably categorized as "far left", a label that can be applied to most of the other candidates – it is projected that the "conservative" Mssr. Sarkozy will go down in double-digit flames come May 6.
Bringing to mind the prophetic utterance of Louis XV: "Après moi, le déluge."
The deluge in Louis' case manifested as the murderous affair commonly known as the French Revolution. In the case of Mssr. Hollande taking up residence in the Palais de l'Élysée, the deluge is likely to manifest in the form of rising interest rates as investors look to protect against an acceleration in the country's debt to GDP ratio, already projected to hit almost 90% this year, exacerbated by a flight of capital, investors, entrepreneurs and large businesses.
As is the nature of such things, because of the aforementioned predilection of humans to run from trouble, we likely won't have to wait for Mssr. Hollande to be formally enshrined in the gilded halls for the trouble to start – it will begin within days and maybe even minutes of the handicappers concluding that his ascendency is a sure thing.
Given that France is the third-largest economy in the already-troubled Eurozone, one can expect the deluge to spread, with potentially devastating consequences. That the guillotines may soon be rolled out across Europe can be better understood by taking into account that the Eurozone sovereign deadbeats are on the hook for roughly nine trillion euros in debt, some significant percentage of which has to be rolled over to ready buyers over the next couple of years. Adding weight to the problem is that, according to the latest figures out of the IMF, Europe's banks may have to sell off up to 3.8 trillion euros in assets, many of them questionable, between now and the end of next year. At least, if they want to remain solvent.
Across the pond, the United States also has aggressive funding needs, given that the "change" we experienced ourselves in the last presidential election has left the government gasping for about $1.4 trillion in additional funding each year. Then there is Japan, officially the world's largest debtor in terms of debt to GDP, where the easy availability of local funding has dried up, requiring that nation to go to the international markets for funding as well.
The phrase "an awful lot of hogs at the trough" comes to mind.
The writer of those words was a member of a Valencia University economics class. The professor, Jack Chandliss, asked the class to write an essay on what the American dream means to them, and what they want the federal government to do to help them achieve that dream.
"It's not a question of return. It's a question of morality."
anything is possible, and none of it good. While I certainly can't say how this is all going to end… I'm pretty sure it's not going to end well.
My point is not just that these governments are broke and are about to get a lot more broke as interest rates rise on their many debts and financings, but rather that…
the global trend toward a resurgence in public demand for socialism in response to a worsening crisis is a certainty.
How could it be otherwise when for decades now the schooling of children has been delegated to functionaries of the state?
For evidence, look no further than the screen swipe here. It is a quote from an essay by a college student in the United States on role the government should play:
Out of 180 students participating, only about 10% wanted the government to leave them alone and not tax them too much...
but a whopping 80% wanted the government to provide pretty much the whole dream thing wrapped in a tidy bow
– including free college tuition and health care, jobs, even the down payment on their future homes, money for retirement and hard cash...
taken in the form of taxes from rich people.

Pretty eye-opening, eh?
The point here is not complex…but it is important.
With the apparatus of state education over many years serving to bamboozle the populace into the hardened belief that government has a positive role to play in virtually all aspects of modern life, it should come to no surprise to anyone that, when push comes to shove, people are now trained to look to government to solve the problems – even when it was the government that created the problems in the first place.
Thus, confronted with the intractable mess they have made...these governments have to keep alive the mythology they have created about their omnipotence. Which is easier said than done, because with things now swirling fairly quickly around the drain, the mob is beginning to lose faith – and even patience.
Which puts these governments in a very tight spot, because the only way they can actually fix things is by doing exactly the opposite of what people have come to expect from their governments, which is always to do more. Put simply, the only hope now is that these governments begin to reduce their roles in their respective economies, and dramatically so. Concurrently, they have to encourage people in their aspirations to greater wealth, by lowering their taxes and unwinding the tangle of regulations they have created over the last half-century.
But if the governments actually tried to take these actions, the brainwashed masses would be positively befuddled then outraged, as it goes against everything they have been taught. Why, it would be like the Pope shuffling his way to the balcony of St. Peter's Basilica and informing the doting faithful that there isn't a god and never has been.
Riots would follow.
So it is that we find ourselves at a particularly interesting juncture in the historical record.
On the one hand you have a majority of the world's population who have been carefully schooled into believing that the institution of government holds the solution to all problems and is the source of succor to all who need it. (Even that subset of the populace who has lost confidence in their current government invariably believes as doctrine that the next and better government can change things for the better and lead the way to the shining castle on the hill.)
In this mix are the politicians and their functionaries, 99.99% of whom believe that, if for no other reason than their re-election prospects...
they have to do something to meet the demands of the public.
Of course, under normal circumstances the "something" usually consists of making grand-sounding speeches and otherwise blowing smoke. Today that's just not going to cut it, for the simple reason that the crisis is real, it is spinning out of control, and it's not going to go away unless and until the markets are allowed to breathe again.
Which brings us full circle to the simple truth that the brainwashed public won't stand idly by while the politicians lower taxes and regulations on the profit makers or cut back state pensions and guarantees or otherwise reduce any of the many services the state has taken on itself to provide.
"Between a rock and a hard place" is an inadequate phrase to describe the situation.
Meanwhile, the mob has started to gather, their dark mutterings heard by the politicos who quickly don the red caps themselves, the better to be viewed as one with the people and join in expressing outrage against the capitalists who have been selected as fall guys in this unfolding drama.
When confronted by reporters about the fact that his 75% tax on high-income owners would raise nowhere enough revenue to offset France's towering debt and social obligations, Mssr. Hollande was heard to respond:

To All My Valued Employees,
There have been some rumblings around the office about the future of this company, and more specifically, your job. As you know, the economy has changed for the worse and presents many challenges. However, the good news is this: The economy doesn't pose a threat to your job.
What does threaten your job however, is the changing political landscape in this country. Of course, as your employer, I am forbidden to tell you whom to vote for - it is against the law to discriminate based on political affiliation, race, creed, religion, etc.
Please vote who you think will serve your interests the best. However, let me tell you some little tidbits of fact which might help you decide what is in your best interest. First, while it is easy to spew rhetoric that casts employers against employees, you have to understand that for every business owner there is a back story.
This back story is often neglected and overshadowed by what you see and hear Sure, you see me park my Mercedes outside. You've seen my big home at last years Christmas party. I'm sure all these flashy icons of luxury conjure up some idealized thoughts about my life. However, what you don't see is the back story.
I started this company 12 years ago. At that time, I lived in a 300 square foot studio apartment for 3 years. My entire living space was converted into an office so I could put forth 100% effort into building a company which, by the way, would eventually employ you.
My diet consisted of Ramen Pride noodles because every dollar I spent went back into this company. I drove a rusty Toyota Corolla with a defective transmission. I didn't have time to date. Often times, I stayed home on weekends, while my friends went out drinking and partying. In fact, I was married to my business -- hard work, discipline, and sacrifice.
Meanwhile, my friends got jobs. They worked 40 hours a week and made a modest $50K a year and spent every dime they earned. They drove flashy cars and lived in expensive homes and wore fancy designer clothes. Instead of hitting Nordstrom's for the latest hot fashion item, I was trolling through the Goodwill store extracting any clothing item that didn't look like it was birthed in the 70's.
My friends refinanced their mortgages and lived a life of luxury. I, however, did not. I put my time, my money, and my life into a business with a vision that eventually, some day, I too, will be able to afford these luxuries my friends supposedly had.
So, while you physically arrive at the office at 9 a.m., mentally check in at about noon, and then leave at 5 p.m., I don't. There is no "off" button for me. When you leave the office, you are done and you have the weekend all to yourself. I unfortunately do not have the freedom. I eat, ****, and breathe this company every minute of the day. There is no rest. There is no weekend. There is no happy hour. Every day this business is attached to me like a one day old baby.
You, of course, only see the fruits of that garden -- the nice house, the Mercedes, the vacations. You never realized the back story and the sacrifices I've made. Now, the economy is falling apart and I, the guy that made all the right decisions, sacrificed and saved his money, have to bail-out all the people who didn't.
The people that overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to the same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed a decade of my life for. Yes, business ownership has is benefits but the price I've paid is steep and not without wounds. Unfortunately, the cost of running this business, and employing you, is starting to eclipse the threshold of marginal benefit and let me tell you why:
I am being taxed to death and the government thinks I don't pay enough. I have state taxes. Federal taxes. Property taxes. Sales and use taxes. Payroll taxes. Workers compensation taxes. Unemployment taxes. Taxes on taxes. I have to hire a tax man just to manage all these taxes and then guess what? I have to pay taxes for employing him. Government mandates and regulations and all the accounting that goes with it, now occupy most of my time. On Oct 15th, I wrote a check to the US Treasury for $288,000 for quarterly taxes. You know what my "stimulus" check was? Zero. Nada. Zilch.
The question I have is this: Who is stimulating the economy? Is it me, the guy who has provided 14 people good paying jobs and serves over 2,200,000 people per year with a flourishing business? Or, is it the single mother sitting at home pregnant with her fourth child waiting for her next welfare check?
Obviously, government feels the latter is the economic stimulus of this country. The fact is, if I deducted (Read: Stole) 50% of your paycheck you'd quit and you wouldn't work here. I mean, why should you? That's nuts. Who wants to get rewarded only 50% of their hard work? Well, I agree which is why your job is in jeopardy. Here is what many of you don't understand ... to stimulate the economy you need to stimulate what runs the economy. Had suddenly government mandated to me that I didn't need to pay taxes, guess what? Instead of depositing that $288,000 into the Washington black-hole, I would have spent it, hired more employees, and generated substantial economic growth. My employees would have enjoyed the wealth of that tax cut in the form of promotions and better salaries. But you can forget it now.
When you have a comatose man on the verge of death, you don't defibrillate and shock his thumb thinking that will bring him back to life, do you? Or, do you defibrillate his heart? Business is at the heart of America and always has been. To restart it, you must stimulate it, not kill it. Suddenly, the power brokers in Washington believe the mud of America are the essential drivers of the American economic engine.
Nothing could be further from the truth and this is the type of change you can keep. So where am I going with all this? It's quite simple. If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, my reaction will be swift and simple. I fire you. I fire your co-workers. You can then plead with the government to pay for your mortgage, your SUV payment and for your child's future. Frankly, it isn't my problem anymore. Then, I will close this company down, move to another country, and retire.
You see, I'm done. I'm done with a country that penalizes the productive and gives to the unproductive. My motivation to work and to provide jobs will be destroyed, and with it, will be my citizenship.
While tax cuts to 95% of America sounds great on paper, don't forget the back story: If there is no job, there is no income to tax. A tax cut on zero dollars is zero. So, when you make decision to vote, ask yourself, who understands the economics of business ownership and who doesn't? Whose policies will endanger your job? Answer those questions and you should know who might be the one capable of saving your job. While the media wants to tell you "It's the economy Stupid" I'm telling you it isn't.
If you lose your job, it won't be at the hands of the economy; it will be at the hands of a political hurricane that swept through this country, steamrolled the Constitution, and will have changed its landscape forever. If that happens, you can find me in the South Caribbean sitting on a beach, retired, and with no employees to worry about.

Last time around...the word was…
This time around it’s…
I've got a much better slogan for the President…Backward.
Because that's his economic policy in a nutshell.
He's signed 21 tax hikes into law in the last three and a half years
(and the the worst of them haven't even gone into effect yet)
Our growth last quarter was… 2.2%
Real unemployment is still stuck way above the phony 8% figure that the Government touts.
The cost of health-care premiums has gone up.
(over two thousand dollars this year…for the average family)
Gas was a $1.84 when he took office…today it's over $4.00
That’s how his ‘Change’ has worked out so far.

It's up nearly 47% since the he took office.

It had built-in brand equity.

Yesterday he warned union members that Republicans would rather give "rich folks" more tax breaks...than invest in the American worker.
"Republicans in Congress would rather put fewer of you to work rebuilding America than ask millionaires and billionaires to live without massive new tax cuts on top of the ones they’ve already gotten," Obama declared in a speech to construction union members at the Hilton hotel in Washington.
Obama added that Republicans' economic plan depended on tax cuts for the rich and "dismantling your unions."
"I mean, if you ask them, what’s their big economic plan in addition to tax cuts for rich folks, it’s dismantling your unions.
After all you’ve done to build and protect the middle class, they make the argument you’re responsible for the problems facing the middle class."

The Obama Administration has placed significant support behind the so-called ‘It Gets Better’ Project.
The White House has devoted a specific section of the WhiteHouse.gov website to the Project.
President Obama, Vice President Biden, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, and many other administration officials have cut videos on behalf of the Project.
Their message is worthwhile…it’s designed to protect children from bullying…it even has a suggested pledge.
Everyone deserves to be respected for who they are. I pledge to spread this message to my friends, family and neighbors. I'll speak up against hate and intolerance whenever I see it, at school and at work. I'll provide hope for lesbian, gay, bi, trans and other bullied teens by letting them know that "It Gets Better”.

He defined the term as…“the phenomenon of Christian teens engaging in unprotected anal sex in order to preserve their virginities.”
In 2006, Savage said that Green Party Senate candidate Carl Romanelli, (who was running against Democrat Bob Casey…the eventual winner)…

2 years of research, rare photos support compelling case
“Who’s your real Daddy?” is a question that remarkably continues to dog Barack Obama, even as he proceeds into his fourth year as president.
With the release this July of Joel Gilbert’s full-length documentary, “Dreams from My Real Father: A Story of Reds and Deception,” the mystery deepens regarding who Obama really is
“The film provides the first cohesive understanding of Obama’s deep-rooted life journey in socialism, from his childhood to his presidency,” Gilbert told WND.
Gilbert rejects the official story that the Kenyan-born Barack Obama was the president’s father.
Instead, he argues, Frank Marshall Davis, the radical poet and journalist who was a card-carrying member of the Communist Party USA, was the real, biological and ideological father of Barack Obama.
“I decided to investigate Frank Marshall Davis. His close physical resemblance to Obama was shocking, while Obama little resembled the Kenyan Obama,” Gilbert said. “How could this be?”
Gilbert launched into what became two years of research during which he conducted interviews and discovered rare film footage and photos.
“I unearthed two film archives of Frank Marshall Davis, one from 1973, the other from 1987, as well as Davis’ photo collection,” he explained. “I then acquired 500 copies of the Honolulu Record, the communist-run newspaper where Davis wrote a weekly political column for eight years.”

Gilbert’s research turned shocking when he obtained seven indecent photos of Ann Dunham, Obama’s mother, at Frank Marshall Davis’ house, suggesting an intimate connection between Dunham and Davis.
“I was not happy to include these racy photos in the film but found it necessary to substantiate the intimate relationship between the two,” he said.
“Those photos ended up in a men’s mail-order catalog of nude women, likely sold to them by Davis. I placed black bars on parts of the photos to be respectful.” (I didn't)
the “Lens Camera Club,” and that he specialized in nude photographs.
Later in life, Davis also penned a scurrilous, autobiographical sex novel, titled “Sex Rebel: Black,” in which he detailed an illicit sexual relationship with an underage woman named “Anne.” Gilbert believes the name was a thin disguise for Obama’s mother, Stanley Ann Dunham.
Gilbert reconstructs Obama’s autobiography, “Dreams from My Father,” and concludes that the tale of the goat-herding father from Kenya is a cover story, concocted to mask an inconvenient pregnancy.
The truth, Gilbert argues, is that Barack Obama II was born from the illicit sexual relationship that rebellious teenager Ann Dunham began with Davis after her parents forced her to move to Hawaii.
Gilbert believes that when Dunham first arrived in Hawaii after graduating from high school, she used the sexual relationship with Davis to act out her frustration that her parents would not permit her to fulfill her wish to attend the University of Washington in Seattle with her Mercer Island High School friends.
In 2010, Gilbert wrote and directed a film titled “Atomic Jihad: Ahmadinejad’s Coming War and Obama’s Politics of Defeat.”
“Dreams from My Real Father” will be released this summer, with screenings in theaters across the country currently in the planning process.
Communist roots
The FBI had Davis under surveillance for 19 years, monitoring his support of the Communist Party both in Chicago and in Hawaii.
Gilbert portrays Obama as a “Red Diaper Baby,” a phenomenon among the radical left, referred to as “hand-me-down Marxism,” in which children of radical parents grow up to be radicals.
Such was the case with much of the leadership of Students for a Democratic Society and the Weather Underground, including Obama senior political adviser David Axelrod, who was born to a mother who wrote for a communist newspaper in New York City.

“While voters will overlook some fudging by politicians, promoting a false family background to hide an agenda irreconcilable with American values is a totally unacceptable manipulation of the electorate.”
What Gilbert presents is a direct challenge to the official narrative, arguing it is more likely President Obama has a deeply disturbing family background and a hidden Marxist agenda.
“Unfortunately, Obama’s style is to minimize, misdirect, and outright lie about damaging information about his past,” Gilbert said.
“I hope the media will now demand that he come clean about his family background, his political foundations and fully reveal his agenda for transforming America.”
In writing his autobiography, Obama masked his relationship with Davis, naming him only as “Frank,” a friend of his grandfather who “lived in a dilapidated house in a run-down section of Waikiki.”
Gerald Horne, a contributing editor to “Public Affairs,” an openly Marxist political review, made the first positive identification of “Frank” as Frank Marshall Davis.
In March 2007, Horne gave a speech at New York University on the occasion of the Communist Party USA archive being placed at an NYU library.
In that speech, Horne discussed Davis, noting that Davis, who was born in Kansas and lived much of his adult life in Chicago...
had moved to Honolulu in 1948 at the suggestion of his good friend, actor Paul Robeson.
In the 1940s, Robeson was an outspoken critic of segregation and racial discrimination in the U.S., a strong advocate of the Soviet Union and a member of the Communist Party USA.
Horne also documented Davis’s friendship with the Dunham family in Hawaii.
“Eventually, (Davis) befriended another family – a Euro-American family – that had migrated to Honolulu from Kansas, and a young woman from this family eventually had a child with a young student from Kenya East Africa who goes by the name of Barack Obama, who, retracing the steps of Davis, eventually decamped to Chicago.”
Lorne further stated Davis was “a decisive influence in helping (Obama) to find his present identity as an African-American, a people who have been the least anti-communist and the most left-leaning of any constituency in this nation.”
After Horne’s speech, the identity of “Frank” was never in doubt, nor his importance in the development of the young Barack Obama.
On Dec. 5, 1956, Davis appeared in executive session before the U.S. Senate Subcommittee investigating “the scope of Soviet activity in the United States,” one of the McCarthy-era panels seeking to expose communists considered to be a security threat.
Invoking his Fifth Amendment rights against self-incrimination, Davis refused to answer a direct question asking if he was then a communist.
A year earlier, in 1955, a Commission on Subversive Activities organized by the government of the Territory of Hawaii identified Davis as a member of the Communist Party USA. The committee singled out for criticism several articles Davis published in the “Communist Honolulu Record” that were critical of the commission.
'May 19th' Communist Organization
Gilbert documents Obama’s association at Columbia University with what was known as the 'May 19th Communist Organization', an above-ground support group for the Weather Underground based in New York City from 1978 to 1985.
“May 19th” carried out raucous anti-Apartheid and anti-Klan protests and operated a host of front organizations.
At the time, Weather Underground co-founder William Ayers – Obama’s Chicago neighbor and colleague in education reform – wrote that May 19th provided “a sea for the guerrillas to swim in.”
Some May 19th members committed acts of violence and terrorism, such as the 1981 Nanuet Brinks robbery and murders, the bombing of South African offices in 1981 and the U.S. Capitol bombing in 1983.
“I spoke with a former FBI informant who told me the May 19th Communist Organization had a weapons training camp in the Catskill Mountains, run by former Black Panthers,” Gilbert told WND.
“In addition, some May 19th members were sent to Cuba for several weeks each year with the Venceremos Brigade, a continuation of the SDS/Weather Underground program begun in the ’60s, for explosives training from Cuban intelligence, DGI.”
Obama’s election was not a sudden political phenomenon, Gilbert maintains.
“It was the culmination of an American socialist movement that Frank Marshall Davis nurtured in Chicago and Hawaii and has been quietly infiltrating the U.S. economy, universities and media for decades,” he explained.
“To understand Obama’s plans for America, look no further than communist Frank Marshall Davis.”

Nearly 30 years after the infamous incident...Mitt Romney is still dogged by Obama and the left for his decision to put his family's Irish setter in a kennel on top of the car during a holiday road trip.
Seems Romney put his dog Seamus on the roof in a car carrier during a 12-hour drive to Canada back in 1983,
arguing there wasn't room in the station wagon among his five sons.
At one point on the trip the dog crapped down the rear windscreen,

Just a few weeks ago, the federal government initiated a contract for acquiring 450 million rounds of .40 caliber ammo from ammunition manufacturer ATK.

They’re too expensive.
Practice ammo is always FMJ ammo (Full Metal Jacket), meaning it has a solid tip.

The DHS is a domestic agency.
It does not fight wars overseas.
It almost exclusively concerns itself with the American people on American soil.
That the DHS is contracting to buy 450 million rounds of hollow point ammo can only mean DHS plans to need this ammo to be used against the American people.
Do the math: That’s almost two bullets for every man, woman and child in America.
All in the hands of a government agency that says...

Financial collapse followed by social unrest. The checkpoints would be used to limit travel and control a very unhappy population.

Pandemic outbreak and quarantine of cities. The checkpoints would be used to keep people IN the cities, preventing their escape.

The day before the president arrived in Colombia, eleven Secret Service agents and at least ten military personnel...
were sent home for partying with prostitutes at a Cartagena hotel.
The accused agents had arrived a week before the president to prepare security for his visit.
The agents brought prostitutes back to their hotel rooms and had copies of the president’s schedule in their rooms…which raises the issue of a potential security breach.

Partying at the “Pley Club” Wednesday night, the members of the president’s advance team allegedly bragged “we work for Obama” and “we’re here to protect him.”
The Pley Club is a well-known brothel in the historic city.
The club, located on a dusty street in the industrial Bosque neighborhood, just blocks from the port, has a rough exterior but boasts plush “pley rooms” inside.
Prostitution is legal in Colombia.
Some taxi drivers in the resort-town are paid a commission for recommending the club and its prostitutes to tourists.
The men were drinking heavily during their night out and enlisted the services of the club’s prostitutes, according to a bouncer at the club and a police source.
Twenty or twenty one women were brought back to their hotel.
They agents agreed to pay for, and received, services from the “highest category” prostitutes available at the club, who typically charge upwards of $200.
The men paid for the sexual services in advance…
but when it came time to settle the bill, there was a small dispute over some of the charges.
A staffer at Hotel Caribe (their hotel) said one agent started tossing furniture…
and others pulled their badges to try to deflect the controversy when the hotel manager intervened for a prostitute who wasn’t paid.
“When the hotel manager showed up, one of the agents starting throwing chairs and tables around,”
“They were showing their badges saying, ‘Look, look who we are!’ ” the hotel staffer said.

Pley Club working girl Maria Jose, 34, said she’s often experienced johns not wanting to pay.
“ A lot of us girls have to put up with tourists like that,” she said.

PYONGYANG – Just hours after an embarrassing launch of a rocket that crashed to the ground in a little over a minute, North Korea suffered another blow to its prestige as it was expelled from the Axis of Evil.

On the local radio this weekend…the New Black Panther Party again called for violence.
The militant group said it planned to “suit up and boot up” and prepare for the next stages of the “race war.”
So far, however...
no members of the New Black Panther Party have faced any legal consequences.
All the information in this post has been readily available to 'news' outlets,
but for whatever reason,
the main stream (lame stream) media has declined to follow-up on it…
I now encourage the black people of Sanford to burn down their own neighborhoods to show their outrage

Mr. Dallas Watts was on his way home from the nearby Gas Express Mart at Starr Avenue and White Street about 4:45 p.m. Saturday when Six (black) juveniles…the youngest 11, and the oldest 17…approached him
One of the boys pointed at Mr. Watts and said, "take him down," the victim recounted in an interview Monday.
Mr. Watts, carrying home two small bags of pork rinds to dole out as treats to his three dachshunds,
looked at the youth and said…
"Why you picking on me? Remember Trayvon. Why you picking on me?"
The boy, again, told his friends to "take him down."
Mr. Watts said one of the boys delivered a single blow to the back of his head during the incident Saturday, knocking the victim to the ground.
At one point, the victim recalled being lifted from the ground so one of the boys could "drop-kick" him in the chest.
One boy, he said, put his foot on the back of the victim's neck, with another shouting, "Kill him."
While Mr. Watts was down the boys kicked him, over and over, shouting…
"(Get) that white (man). This is for Trayvon ... Trayvon lives, white (man). Kill that white (man)," according to the police report.
The boys fled when an approaching man shouted at them.
For investigators, it's unclear whether the assault was motivated by an attempt to avenge the Martin youth's death or whether Mr. Watts' "Remember Trayvon" message was misinterpreted as threatening or racist.
When asked about the Trayvon remarks, Mr. Watts said…
"All I meant by saying 'remember Trayvon' is to remember what happened to him, don't duplicate it here,"…
suggesting that he was minding his own business as he walked home.
"The only reason I mentioned Trayvon…that was my defense," Mr. Watts said.
"Don't pick on me. I am not your enemy."

At his home Monday, Mr. Watts said he has never allowed weapons inside his house…
and that when his four children were growing up, they were not allowed to play "cops and robbers, to kill the Indians."
During the Vietnam War...Mr. Watts, who served in the military from 1950 to 1961...refused to let his boys play with GI Joes.
But now, Mr. Watts says he plans to buy a gun and obtain a permit to carry it.
"What happened to me … down here on the corner, that changed my perspective on humanity," Mr. Watts said.

There is little to no evidence that George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin because Martin was black.
But that hasn’t stopped members of the Congressional Black Caucus from sponsoring a resolution linking Martin to gun control and lamenting supposed racial profiling of the teenager:
Honoring the life of 17-year-old, Trayvon Martin, urging the State of Florida and others to repeal the Stand Your Ground law, and admonishing involved parties to pursue full investigations into all homicides, regardless of defenses asserted by the offender.
Whereas on February 26, 2012, Trayvon Martin, an African-American youth, was horrifically shot and killed while walking from his local 7-Eleven in Sanford, Florida, because he was viewed as ‘suspicious' by George Zimmerman …

Well, they got what they wanted:
a nice, juicy story with all the earmarks of racism,
civil rights violations
and possibly police mishandling of a case.
Seventeen-year-old Trayvon Martin was shot and killed in Sanford, Fla., late last month.
His death is attributed to George Zimmerman,
What more could the media ask for?
They just love it when the little guy gets beaten up by the big guy, and it’s especially good for headlines when the bad guy is a white male (and apparently an angry one at that) and the good-guy victim is a young minority…preferably black.
That’s what we have here.
Good guy: unarmed, young black shot dead…while returning from a convenience store.
Bad guy: the man with the gun, an older “Hispanic white” (what’s that?) who apparently sees himself as a neighborhood watch volunteer.
The police say he’s white…his family says he’s Hispanic.
The real problem is that crime statistics blur the line between white and Hispanic criminals; lump them all as whites and the numbers get skewed…but it keeps the race panderers happy.
Did he do it?
Looks like it…but why?
Was he provoked?
Was he justified?
Florida’s Stand Your Ground Law allows people to protect themselves with deadly force if they’re threatened.
Who knows exactly what happened?
The stories vary, but…
the media theme that’s evolved is that this was a white-versus-black race crime.
The white had the gun, and the black is dead; therefore, it’s intentional racism, a civil rights violation.
Media-wise…what else is new?
The story is reported as though all blacks are put upon by whites…

The media coverage has made a federal case out of this…literally.
The Justice Department is involved, and a grand jury investigation is in the works.
There’s fury that Zimmerman hasn’t been arrested…even though the investigation isn’t complete.
In addition, he’s in hiding as more and more threats against him surface.
Those who rail against Zimmerman for what they see as vigilante justice are doing the same thing themselves, only in this case, it would be deliberate, intentional, planned murder…if in fact, they get to Zimmerman.
He’s smart to stay hidden...but apparently he's not in protective custody.

has a wanted poster on its website offering a $10,000 “bounty” for Zimmerman.
They want him “ALIVE, not dead or harmed.”
There are rallies and protests in cities across the country.
The Occupy Wall Street agitators latched onto the story and are using it as ammunition against the system.
Supportive churches in New York City have led services and marches in support of Martin’s family.
The ACLU is involved…
as is the NAACP.
The Nation of Islam’s leader Louis Farrakhan is enraged, and he posted on Twitter:
“Where there is no justice, there will be no peace.
Soon the law of retaliation may very well be applied.”
Sounds like a threat to me.
Al Sharpton is out there leading rallies and protests, raising the specter of slavery.
Maybe it is the ’60s again…
maybe what these people really want is to get the people in the streets and stir up anger for all the alleged injustices blacks have suffered ever since the Civil Rights Act was passed.
Apparently, in their view, there’s been no progress, no positive changes, no justice at all.
In their view, “The Man” is still white and powerful, and everyone of color, especially black, is under his thumb.
It may not be 1800s-style slavery…but it’s slavery nevertheless and will not go away…

The old line was, “Bring it all down, man.”
It appears that what was old is now new and may be coming to a town near you.
If this agitation spreads, you can expect it’s going to get ugly in the streets, and, quite frankly, any progress on the racial equality will be lost.
Unfortunately, the race baiters won’t give up until George Zimmerman is drawn and quartered, (legally, of course), unless someone finds him first.
They won’t give up until there’s blood in the streets, because they see this as a way to teach whitey a lesson.

That he’s half white doesn’t count…

(Hmmm, Context: A neighborhood watch captain calls 911 and then tails a suspicious looking black male wearing a hoodie...in his gated community, a community that has been repeatedly victimized by break-ins reportedly perpetrated by black males. Obama said the "Stand Your Ground" laws should be studied.
Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law allows people to use deadly force in self-defense.
Similar laws are in effect in at least 24 states including Florida, according to the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.
Calls are mounting to repeal them.
Earlier this week, a Florida state senator said he was drafting new legislation to drastically change the law in Florida.
A South Carolina state representative said on Friday he had introduced a bill to repeal his state's law.
"Introducing the new Jesie Jackson"
Bakari Sellers, a black Democrat said he wanted to prevent an incident like the Trayvon Martin shooting happening in his state.
"I'm six-five and a black guy," he said.
"I just know that it could have been me."
The U.S. Justice Department is also investigating.
Senior officials from the department met with the Martin family in Florida on Thursday, along with their lawyer.
A Justice Department spokeswoman said early in the week that they must collect evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that there was intent to violate civil rights laws.
Read that sentence very carefully and parse it!

They still can't give straight answers to questions about 'Fast and Furious' (a shooting that killed a Federal Agent).

Who is George Zimmerman?
He's a Hispanic man from a multiracial family.
Police found him with a bloody nose...blood on the back of his head and grass with stains all over his back.
His lawyer says his nose was broken.
Zimmerman has contended that he was on his way back to his SUV (in his Gated community) after following Trayvon when he was attacked.
Zimmerman wanted to be a police officer and was a mentor to a single mother with a 14 year old son and a 13 year old daughter...she has nothing but good things to say about his involvement with them...and also in helping to raise money for their African American church.
A series of 46 emergency calls made by Zimmerman to police while on neighborhood watch patrols over the past six years document a man vigilant about keeping his neighborhood safe and orderly.
“The newly released police calls paint Zimmerman as a man obsessed with law and order, with the minutiae of suburban life, and with black males,” writes Mother Jones’ Adam Weinstein.
But Zimmerman's family, his neighbors and his lawyer paint a different picture:
That of a devoted neighbor, who wanted to protect his neighborhood so badly...
that it's residents (in establishing a local Neighborhood Watch group last year) appointed him it's captain.
The organization was not registered with the national Neighborhood Watch program, but was set up with the assistance of the Sanford Police Department.
Frank Taaffe, a neighbor, told CNN that Zimmerman "had a passion for the safety of our neighborhood and he demonstrated to the rest of us that one person could make a difference.
Mr. Taaffe told the Washington Post...
“George is a good dude. He cares about this community. He’s not a vigilante out looking for trouble."
“He was an average guy, just like me."
Zimmerman was working toward an associate’s degree in arts at Seminole State College in Sanford.
He previously earned a vocational certificate in an insurance field, the school said.
"Due to the highly charged and high-profile controversy involving this student, Seminole State has taken the unusual but necessary step this week to withdraw Mr. Zimmerman from enrollment," a statement dated Thursday said.

Yesterday afternoon at a press conference, the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense circulated a “wanted dead or alive” poster for George Zimmerman for shooting to death a Florida teenager four weeks ago.
Minister Mikhail Muhummud led the press conference, calling for the firing of Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee, the arrest of George Zimmerman and some involvement from President Obama.
President Obama had not addressed the issue, but had advised the Justice Department to open an investigation into the case.
This morning following Muhummud’s press conference…President Obama spoke about the case for the first time publicly.
He echoed the sentiments of Muhummud saying “If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon...”
While Minister Muhummud fired off a list of demands and expressed outrage over the handling of the shooting and subsequent investigation…
a member of the group passed out ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’ flyers to about 100 people who showed up for the press conference.
Muhummud told the group he was not concerned with rumors of death threats to George Zimmerman, “He should be afraid for his life…”

Muhammad called on 5,000 black men to mobilize and capture the neighborhood watch volunteer.
“If the government won’t do the job, we’ll do it,” Muhammad said, leading chants that included “freedom or death” and “justice for Trayvon.”
They also said Angela Corley, the newly appointed special prosecutor, was an enemy of the black community.
“She has a track record of sending innocent young black men and women to prison,” Muhammad said.
The Southern Poverty Law Center calls the New Black Panther Party…
a black-separatist group created in 1989, “virulently racist and anti-Semitic.”

MELBOURNE, Fla. - A Melbourne man was arrested after deputies said he threatened to kill Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee.
Brevard County Sheriff's deputies arrested John Stewart, 68, on Friday.
Stewart is charged with one count of written threats to kill or do bodily harm.
Deputies said Stewart sent the email to Lee's work account on Thursday morning with the subject line, "Coming after you."
In the email, Stewart referenced the Trayvon Martin fatal shooting, and told Lee:
"I have more weapons than your entire police department and I would love to use some of them just to take you down."

In the On Thursday, Lee temporarily stepped down because he had become a distraction to the case.
Deputies said Stewart admitted to sending the email to Lee.
Investigators found more threatening emails after a search of Stewart's computer.
Stewart had been investigated for similar messages before.
Stewart sent threatening messages to Penn State assistant football coach Mike McQueary, according to investigators.
Stewart was booked on $10,000 bond.
According to the conditions of his bond, Stewart will be placed on electronic monitoring, be prohibited from using any device than can receive or send emails, and cannot contact Lee or his family, or come within 1,500 feet of the Stanford Police Department.

"As long as he is outside of the court system, the protests will intensify and spill over into other dimensions," Jackson said.
His lack of appearance in the court system is a source of embarrassment and humiliation."

Some believe that the Florida police were nodding to that law when they declined to arrest Zimmerman after the Feb. 26 shooting.
Many other states have similar statutes, Jackson said, and he wants them all repealed, starting with Florida's.

Our financial system has become a gigantic gambling parlor and we have allowed a horrific derivatives bubble to develop that could destroy the entire world economy if it ever bursts.

There's a $700 trillion elephant in the room and it's time we found out how much it really weighs on the economy.
Derivative contracts total about three-quarters of a quadrillion dollars in "notional" amounts, according to the Bank for International Settlements.
These contracts are tallied in notional values because no one really can say how much they are worth.
But valuing them correctly is exactly what we should be doing because these comprise the viral disease that has infected the financial markets and the economies of the world.
Try as we might to salvage the residential real estate market...it's at best worth $23 trillion in the U.S.
We're struggling to save the stock market...but that's valued at less than $15 trillion.
And we hope to keep the entire U.S. economy from collapsing...yet gross domestic product stands at $14.2 trillion.
Compare any of these to the derivatives market and you can easily see that we are just closing the windows as a tsunami crashes to shore.
The total value of all the stock markets in the world amounts to less than $50 trillion...according to the World Federation of Exchanges.
To be sure,…the derivatives market is international.
But much of the trouble we're in began with contracts "derived" from the values associated with U.S. residential real estate market.
These contracts were engineered based on the various assumptions tied to those values.
Few know what derivatives are worth.
